Captains Cruise 2008 to French Polynesia a Success !

Published by sailtimeci at 5:19 am under SailTime

Just returned from the 2008 edition of the Captains Cruise. We sailed French Polynesia for ten glorious days. The weather was incredible and the water was warmer than the air. We couldnt have timed it better as it poured buckets when we flew out of Papeete.

We had wind to sail on all four crossings and calm lagoon anchorages for great sleeping and snorkeling. Perhaps the most striking thing was the shear wildness of it all. In nearly all instances we were the only boats anchored where we did. We only were on a mooring 2 of the nine nights. The rest were anchorages out near the reefs. I’ll write more about the experience later.

Wow - look at how many people you can fit on a catamaran!
